But instead of adding an aluminum plate, i printed a base the base that i mounted the motor too.
I have Lawsy carriage replacements so needed something different.

It is possible to use the SD4 extruder parts on the SD2. Two mods needed to be done for this to work. The bridge piece needs to be extended 2.2mm and a plate needs to be made to mate with the two long bolts under the extruder to the two holes in the stepper.
The plate in the image below was temporary. I've since created and cut out a nicer looking one.

Very nice work Pirvan, it seems to be everything you could want in an extruder mount!  Simple to assemble, guide piece beneath the gear, and holds the hot end firmly.  Awesome.

Have you shared the .stl on thingiverse?  I took a quick look and couldn't find it.  If not, are you willing to post it here?  Also, if you post the .skp file (if you used sketchup), I will try to make any changes needed to get it to accept the E3D V6, if changes are even needed.

Which one are you referring to?  The aluminum one or the blue one?  The Aluminum one is from Printrbot, you can buy it through the link I posted.

If you're looking for the blue one, I posted a version of it before, with a different tensioning bearing setup.  I can certainly post the STL for this version, but I don't have a Sketch up file, I work in Solidworks.

It's not just the extruder part though, it's a complete replacement for the Extruder assembly and carriage.

I have no try mine yet but do worry about the spring tension. And wish there are a way to adjust it.

I'm mounting mine on the 0.9 degree motor so it a bit longer than the original so u have to mount the fan on the side.

One of the nice things about this, is that, it has adjustable sprint tension, which most designs of this type don't.  It mounts to the carriage from the underside, and although it was designed primarily for a Ubis Hot end, it will also fit the standard Solidoodle hot end, and any other hot end that is 16mm in diameter. 

It also has one nice touch, a filament guide built in just under the drive gear.  I works really well on my Printrbot Simple.
