You may want to take a good look at https://www.vorondesign.com
It is an open source core xy project in my or may not work with the sd 4 frame but take a looks there are several options on the theme.

the cad files for the SD2 are not really useful for the SD4 because of size difference, but yeah, corexy conversion has been done a few times

To the original poster ;
Looks like we gave you two very different options. the actual rebuild is likely what you are looking for . the one advantage to the one i posted is you would end up with a little extra Z room the disadvantage is more likely more mods to your original case.

Lesson learned check thingiverse before trying to reinvent the wheel.

IIRC this question has come up in the past.
Try searching the net grabcad maybe.
You may be better off taking the dimensions you need from the frame and working from there or adapting cad files from a core xy to fit the frame.
or take a few minutes an cad th frame and work with that.

Seems like it would be easy enough to build a core xy frame and set it on top of the sd4 box drill a half dozen 5mm holes and mount it with t nuts then either use the existing z axis of use the core xy y design

I don't know of anyone that has CAD files for the SD4. I think they are out there somewhere for the Press.
