Quick question Is the barrel just a standard 1/2" black iron pipe? looking at possible building a spare barrel and welding a hopper together with the barrel for strength. just playing with ideas on it really. I ordered some new nozzles for it also since I accidently drilled my nozzle out to much. (got the 1.8 and the 2.3 bits mixed up.)

Beyond 2 amps risks bending the barrel, beyond 2.4 amps risks accelerated wear to the gearbox.

CV limits voltage, yes.

I originally had issues with the screw not lining up inside the filastruder but I was able to get that sorted and it turned fine as long as I don't have the hopper full. empty it pulls .5 amps and when it is extruding good it pulls 1.5 to 1.7 amps but after a little while it will bog down and seize up it seems like. If I leave everything on every 10 to 15 seconds I could hear it free up for a second but goes right back to seized up. If I dump the hopper and let it go then after it sets for 10-15 minuits it will start extruding again. and it will be fine as long as I don't load up the barrel again. It almost seems like it is getting to much head pressure.
Sorry for the delayed response I managed to break my vertical hopper and dump about a half pound of clear petg pellets everywhere ????. Wife is pissed ????. should have new hopper on it today and will post a video of it tomorrow morning. 2 Questions though. The Vc pot and the Cc pot. I know the CC pot limits current to motor. What exactly does the VC pot do? I imagine it controles voltage output correct? Other question is what can I safely take the stall current up to before I risk bending the barrel? currently at 2 amps and It has helped alot but don't want to damage it before I can design a new welded barrel setup for it.

I came back heated it up to 180 and let it sit for 30 min before trying to extrude. When i flipped the motor switch it torqued a bit over and then it then went into stall protection at 1.6 amps. (ended up having to dig the plastic out of the barrel. Once that was doni finished the e I was able to get it to extrude and it would go fine for 10-15 feet worth of filament but then would jamb up and overcurrent.
Now I have 12 lbs of the Clear Petg and I am having the same problem with it. I have tried temps from 180 up to 230 but no mater what I try it stalls out. I even moved the stall current up to 2.0 and same thing (dont want to twist or bend the pipe) I have searched through the forums and tried most of the things others have tried except for drilling out the nozzle. If i load the filament a little bit at a time it extrudes fine but If I put anything in the hopper (20 oz. coke bottle) even just 1 inch into it, it will extrude for a bit then jamb up. Is there anything I can try to get this to extrude without bogging down and having to dig out the filament from the nozzle again?
I checked and lubed the thrust bearing, finally got the auger shaft straight in housing with the gearbox output shaft from a earlier post, and I have the proper 2 mm of clearance with the drive socket internally.

Any help is appreciated I look forward to participating in this forum.
