The XYZ machines do not print in stream mode. They upload the entire print to the onboard sdcard before they print.

Thanks, but that is what I had tried. I’m not certain if my existing usbserial driver is interfering with XYZWare.

To eliminate this as a possible problem I tried again using a stock install of Windows. After I installed XYZWare I launched the software after connecting the printer with it in bootloader mode. XYZWare immediately indicated it would update the printer and the update dialog appeared. The process took a few minutes and ended with a message stating the process completed successfully. The printer was still in bootloader mode so I powered it off and on. The printer still didn’t boot.

In bootloader mode the update dialog identified the printer model and version as well as the serial number. The MacOS software uses a command click on the update button to display the open dialog for selecting a bin file containing firmware. On Windows I’ve tried a bunch of combinations. I’ve tried shift click, control click, alt click, etc. None displays the dialog. Does anyone know how to make this appear on Windows?

I’ve tried updating this printer unsuccessfully two more times. Both times the process completed successfully but the printer still wouldn’t boot.

This printer may have a hardware problem.

Bob

Recently my printer locked up shortly after selecting the menu option to clean the extruder. I powered off with the printer in a locked up state and can't power on since. Upon powering on I receive two black lines on the LCD and the LED lamp flickers once.

I believe the firmware is corrupted.

I've been able to get the printer into Bootloader mode by holding down the up and down arrows while powering on.

Can anyone tell me how to flash the firmware, if it's possible, while in bootloader mode? XYZware doesn't display any info about the printer (serial number, etc) while in bootloader mode, but the "update firmware" button is available. Unfortunately, it doesn't work due to timeout errors.

It's possible this might be a problem with my laptop. I have a USBSerial driver I use with hardware to connect to the console port on network hardware we have at work. I'm not sure if this driver is interfering with XYZware.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Bob
