@ alexkaps, maybe need to increase your extrusion or flow rate slightly to help with those gaps.
You're right, PLA is way better for prints that cover a large area of the print bed on the first layer.
Much better adhesion and far less warping (if any) than ABS.

If you can get to 55 minutes, I'm pretty confident you'll be able to go much longer by adding extra cooling (heatsinks).
The longest I've tried so far is about a 7 print which finished perfectly.
The only times I have trouble with PLA now is if the print slows down too much (less than about 15mm/s) but even then it's rare.

Thank you scobo, your mod is very smart and worked great, i added the heat sinks from an old motherboard    Just finished a 12 hour print with no extrusion problems (had to narrow down the time from the previous try, halved height) and i am posting my results.

Compared to a very similar print with abs but also using slic3r instead of simplify3d, there are some quality issues. I don't know yet if it's about the settings or the material itself so i'm posting my results with the settings. 

Some major positive facts using PLA is the far less warping and the reduced preheating time compared to ABS.   
The quality issues are focused mostly at the horizontal surfaces (gaps inside the top infill),  in areas with more detail (lines are not smooth but curly) and also there are randomly some bumpy spots in the vertical surfaces.

I'm also attaching most the settings used to print this model. 
The temperature was set at 225 degrees for all layers.

At this moment 55 minutes passed.

My guess is that your Da Vinci is having the same issue that most have with PLA. You need to look up scobo's mod around here and mod your hot end with heat sinks and reposition the fan.

i decided before modding the extruder to try increase the temperature for PLA  from 190 deg to 225 deg , as suggested by Scocbo.
This lead to a much better print quality and a longer print (40 minutes before clicking and decreased flow started).

My only concern is scobo said that

Mine printed for 40 minutes! Will the mod make the difference?
The next thing to try is re positioning the extruder's fan and heat sinks and posting the new results.

Any feedback from other people that had the same issue will be very welcome!

the second print with 225 degrees

I'm trying to build a large object (15x19x7 cm) on my daVinci 1.0A , F/W 1.0.3 using simplify3d and printing with PLA. 
While printing the solid  infill of the first layer the filament flow decreases and eventually stops. 
The perimeter lines are building normally. I checked the extruder's temperature while "not" printing the infill and it was normal (195 deg). 

Any help would be very appreciated!

ps. The bed is not broken, there is a new glass on top of the broken one.
