			<description><![CDATA[<p>i believe the problem its the ambient temperature.If its too hot the extruder cant cold and the filament melted.<br />The day i had the problem the temperature here in greece was 39 c . Today i made a PID calibration and i have a succesfull 45 minute print.But the temp today is 21 c.<br />I try to print again one hot day and if i have the same problem its the ambient temperature.If i dont have the same problem<br />the PID calibration do the job. <img src="https://www.soliforum.com/img/smilies/wink.png" width="15" height="15" alt="wink" /></p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>I was having the same issue and ended up giving up and fitting an E3D Lite6. I know that&#039;s not what you want to hear, but if you&#039;ve raised your z-offset and it&#039;s still happening...</p><p>The E3D has solved my problem, but really: double check your z-offset first. You should make it <strong><span class="bbu">lower</span></strong> than its current value (not higher as someone else said earlier in the thread). Just as a way of testing this out, try setting it to 0.0! You&#039;ll get no adhesion, but if it extrudes OK then that&#039;s your issue.</p>]]></description>

Here&#039;s some scenarios, roughly top to bottom:<br /></p><ul><li><p>Junky/dirty/dusty/soggy/oversized/undersized filament</p></li><li><p>Feed problem (kinked filament, jam at spool or feed path)</p></li><li><p>Dirty drive wheel</p></li><li><p>Misaligned drive wheel</p></li><li><p>Not enough idler pressure</p></li><li><p>Misaligned/jammed idler</p></li><li><p>Extruder motor too hot (softening filament at drive wheel)</p></li><li><p>Bottom end of extruder too hot, kinking filament</p></li><li><p>Top end of tube too hot (bulging filament)</p></li><li><p>Cooled plastic stuck in top of heat break</p></li><li><p>Nozzle misaligned to heat break tube</p></li><li><p>Nozzle tightened to heater block, not heat break tube</p></li><li><p>Heater set too low</p></li><li><p>Inaccurate temperature reading</p></li><li><p>Temp drops during extrude (weak wires/supply, loose heater)</p></li><li><p>Feed rate too high</p></li><li><p>Junk in nozzle body/heat break</p></li><li><p>Cooked filament in nozzle body/heat break</p></li><li><p>Junk/cooked filament stuck in orifice</p></li><li><p>Nozzle orifice peened too small by bed crashes/collisions.</p></li><li><p>Extruding first layer too close to bed (back pressure causes stripping)</p></li></ul><p>I left some out, since we&#039;re talking specifically about Press with ABS. Try ruling out the easy things first so you don&#039;t make things worse rather than better. (For example, reassembling the heater block too high on the heat break pipe will overheat the bottom of the extruder and the top of the heat break tube.)</p>]]></description>

Above this, filament should be below Tg (glass transistion temp). The extruder body acts as a heat sink to keep the top of A &quot;cool&quot;. When you take the tube out of the extruder body (as pictured), A will not stay cool.</p><p>If you heat the hot end outside the extruder, it will melt plastic above the heat break. (Purge with a 1.5mm Allen wrench, or the back end of a 5/64 drill bit. Hot! Carefully.)</p><p>Things to check: the&nbsp; drive wheel is lined up front-to-back with the rest of the extruder. </p><p>Could also have some junk in the nozzle. A few ways to tackle that are bring the extruder up to temp, then turn off the heat and let it cool to 160C and pull out the filament. Ideally this pulls out a little swollen plug of filament, which was the melt pool. With luck, a little clump of something is in there.&nbsp; (If the filament snaps inside the tube, then the temp was a little cold. If the end necks into a long string, it was a little hot. Adjust and repeat as needed.)</p>]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[<p>It was blowing out. I flipped it yesterday to blow into it due to some threads I&#039;ve read on these forums but that didn&#039;t help. I&#039;m pretty sure it&#039;s melting pre-nozel. If that&#039;s the case then the drive gear will be unable to push the filament so it will just spin at the same spot causing the gouging. Does that sound accurate?</p>]]></description>
