This is the exact reason why I did not use High Heat JB Weld. I just took the time to wrap the thermistor around the block, inserted the heating element, then wrapped kapton around the two tightly.
Thermistor no longer moves.

Its good for a few weeks at a go and I used to use it before I settled on the process I outlined in that thread and it does work fine - but I got sick of thermistors falling out when I was rough with the cables after a few weeks of use...

In fact if you were near Canberra - I have a 98% full tub of the stuff I'd part with...

I wonder if there isn't a way around that though?  Maybe it it could still be yanked out or something.

Hmmm from what I've learned it seems the only viable option for removable would be chipping away at the stuff gradually, but even then one probably could remove it all without damaging the block.
I suppose i'll have to improve my kapton-ing skills.

Somewhere is a post that adrian did about how to do it right.  Basically pull the heat cartridge out wrap several times with the thermistor in place then cut the hole for the cartridge.  That's how I do it and it looks clean and holds well.
