Are you talking about the Bulldog XL or the lite?
I run the XL and really like it.  However, it comes at a price.  It is heavier so I have noticed that I have had to reduce my speeds from ridiculously fast to still pretty damn fast.  The upside is because it is geared, moire is totally eliminated.  It never strips the filament which is really nice.  It also is a great excuse to upgrade to linear bearings and spend even more money

is there a printed mount that someone came up with for the Bulldog XL? or do you just strap it on and go?

get the direct drive E3D.

You could also use http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:178102 which seems to produce less 'spin' on the extruder.
I also like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:271506 if you are thinking about adding a fan.

Make sure you get the right software instructions though.  It took me longer to upload the firmware for the printrboard than it did to install the hot end.

+1 to what Michael said I stepped away for a bit.
You want the direct and make sure you get the one for 1.75.  You may also consider ordering up an extra nozzle or two.  Maybe even a .6 for fun.  They are cheap and if you should ever get a clog just unscrew and replace.  Then you can clean the old one while you still print.

How do you think I ended up being such a big fan of the E3D?  I went through that process once and a couple of weeks later it clogged again.  Go to Filastruder.com and never look back.  The E3D isn't just plug and play though.
