As near as I can tell from the article, they spent more time hand finishing it to make it look smooth than they did printing it (which is probably the case for small scale prints too :-).

That is really awesome. I got the chance to see the first one being printed in Las Vegas last year. They drove it around after they had it built. I would love to see this one!
