Topic: Help! Z Axiz wont move. Just got the press today

I can home X and Y but when I Home all the print head moves to the back corners then returns to the center and I hear a loud  fast skipping. I'm pretty sure its coming from the z axis stepper motor. I can't get it to stop It has happened a few times after restarting both Soliprint and the press.  Thanks

I don't have a Press but is the Z axis belt driven or direct drive?

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

Thanks for the tip. I actually already tried that and it didn't help. But i found that the cable connecting the motor was loose.   Seems dumb now but i swear i checked that before. Now its working fine...still a bit loud. I'm now the proud owner of a calibration cube.
