Topic: Overheated PLA

I tried printing with PLA. Set soliprint to "PLA", waited for the nozzle/bed to stabilize at the correct temps, then printed. The first half hour went OK, then the dreaded extruder thumping.

Looking at Soliprint, the temps were running at ABS levels (250/90) even though the targets in the UI were at PLA levels (235/35)! Same thing in the printer config window. They looked to be live measurements too, as they varied a little bit in time.

Anyone else have this happen? Ideas to prevent its reccurrence?

Thanks.

PS. And the extruder thumping? Skipped steps. The PLA buckled between the drive wheel and the entrance to the thermal break pipe, and packed that area full of filament, stalling the motor. Worse, running at that temp that long, the PLA softened above the thermal break and then hardened there. That clog was a bother to fix.
