Topic: Yet another trident

Designer Fred posted a neat little trident fishing hook, which gave me an idea for another trident.

The famous Maserati Trident logo.  So here is a nice plaque with the Maserati logo:

I'm printing it right now.

So, you have a Maserati?  Which one?

I've been looking at the Ghibli.  It's a very nice car for the money, but I can't quite justify it right now.  My next door neighbor has a Quatroporte, beautiful car, but overpriced in my opinion.

The Ghibli on the other hand is a lot more reasonably priced, and though it has a few Chrysler parts in it, it's still a Maserati.

BTW, the logo would really look good if it were printed in silver and gold, or black and gold.  Unfortunately, I don't have any metallic colored filament, so I'm printing it in two-tone green.

Re: Yet another trident

And here is the print.  No cleaning or touch ups.  I only removed the brim off the base.

I printed the model in one pass, paused it when the base was done, changed the filament and continued printing.

The Maserati logo itself is not the best quality because the dark green filament is a larger diameter than the fluorescent green filament, so it over extruded by quite a bit.  I also had a bit of an adhesion problem between the 2 colors, as the time it took to change the filament, the surface had cooled a bit.  The tail end of the horizontal swoosh had delaminated, so I glued it back down.

Other than that, it's not too bad.

The song I'm thinking of is Joe Walsh's "Life's been good"

... My Maserati does one eighty five
I lost my license, now I don't drive...
