Topic: Layers Printing Off Diagonally

I had this happen with a different file, and now it has happened again.

I've used slic3r to slice up an STL file, but when it prints, each layer is shifted a bit to one side, so the whole thing prints wrong.  Instead of a wall being straight, it ends up being at about a 45-degree angle.

Does anyone know what causes this in the gcode?  Also, how can you fix it?  I've re-sliced several times with slightly modified settings, but so far this one file won't print correctly.  I've also run it through cloud.netfabb.com

Thanks!

Load the file so we could try slicing it and seeing what happens.  Are you running 097 or an earlier build? Have you tried skeinforge?

Does it actually show the shift in the 3D gcode preview, or is it only when it prints?  Layer shifting is usually a mechanical problem.

Re: Layers Printing Off Diagonally

I opened the file in repetier and it looked fine.

Everything else is printing fine right now too, but this one file.

I am uploading the STL and the CGODE and I ended up with.  It is just weird.

One thing that may, or may not, have affected this print, is that I scaled the original to 80%.

Thanks!

It's too long to print on the bed by around 10mm.  Try turning it 45 degrees and print it diagonally.
