nozzle hitting layer, anything i can do?

recently i have been having problems with printing an earbud cable holder for a friend at work.  the nozzle hits the side of the print and the next layer is offfset.  it doesnt make sense that it should hit.  i have leveled the bed with a feeler guage.  i am thinking it might be something to do with the temperature of the plastic.  i had the worst problems with glow in the dark blue at 190.  right now i am printing dark ble from octave at 190 and it is doing better but it still has one offset layer.
