Topic: Red filament look orange?
Is it just me? Did anyone else order the red filament? It appears orange to me after a print.

Nope, looks orange to me.... not like the fruit though more like an orange construction fence...
I've attached a picture..
I would like to find some filament more like the color of the top of the pen in the picture, or the body of the pen.

The red that I got from 3D Printer Stuff at Amazon stays pretty red. That is what I used on the dial indicator mount.

Their red looks pretty red from the pictures, will like to see how it looks after extrusion.
Do the ABS plastic dyes degrade with heat?

Maybe I'm just too fussy. Or my eye's don't see the difference between red and orange well enough.
I'll try some darker colors next time I order filament.

Ive noticed alot of people aren't printing in black. Any reason for this?

I have a black spool, haven't used it yet.
I don't know why you don't see many black prints.. maybe we like things to be colourful? 
Id use black for rc car parts.

I printed in black a couple times. The lines are more pronounced in black probably bed
Cause it might require different temperature settings. I havent experimented with different settings with it though. The detail is more hidden than bright colors. I tried a yoda and it was rougher than other colors. When I photographed it, the detail did not show up too well.

Has anyone tried Octave ABS? They seem to offer a wide variety of colors at a great price.
