LMAO! so is that the 3d printing equivalent to a "sky hook #2, "bag stretcher", Bucket of steam"...?
No... I am serious!
well my words taste nasty lol. http://www.fuseclamp.com/en/ its costlier than 4 3D pens though
the youtube link was in a dif post titled changing filament while printing
not as accurate but more possibilities than a 4 head extruder
$80? That's crazy!
in euros and that was if invested in startup. looks like now its about $350 USD

I made a post about the fuseclamp in the filament forum. I did kick in the $81.10 to get one (hopefully) because I have hopes that it will do more for me than just prevent me pelletizing filament leftovers to re-extrude.
If you've seen the video, I've never seen anything else that is quite that slick for joining filament... the price seemed reasonable considering the size of the teflon block used.
If your filament path is fully constrained (ala e3dv6), you can simply feed one piece after the other.

I have to try this some time...
There's this thing:
Basically just a grooved Al block, thermistor, and a heating resistor.

Should be pretty trivial to work up if you have an old stock SD hotend lying around.
The links are a little DIY, too...I really should post more. Meh.
