Topic: Would this work as an accurate belt tension measuring device?

I would like to accurately calibrate the tension on my 3D printer. Initially I did use the coin tension gauge, but thought this could be better. The way it would work would be the spring pushes up and presses the belt between the two pins at the top, the user then measures the remaining extension of the rod on the bottom, similar to this http://www.vtwinmfg.com/webapp/wcs/stor … Id=3295275
So please pardon the rawness of the design, I can make it look better later.
The whole thing will be 3D printable, minus the spring.
