Joystick

Has anyone thought about putting/put a joystick on their 3D printer? I'm thinking something like https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9032 would be cool. You could use it for calibrations like bed leveling. Also if you made it so it would extrude when you clicked it in, you could clear the old filament out of your hot end, or maybe even free hand 3d printing. I don't even now if its possible, let alone if I can do it with a stock Rev E board. Any thoughts?
