Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Hm.  I say..  fifty?  Is this the place to say it?  I certainly want a 50% voucher

EDIT: realized that there arent piles of e3d's in the boxes.

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Yup, this is the place to say it. The competition is not number of E3Ds, but total number of packages.

Printed it and a v6 hot end fits. Probably could still be tweaked slightly, but it'll do for now.

29

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

on those top packages, is each bag a package? or are you counting the box they are in?

30

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

A package is anything with a shipping label on it. Open boxes are just holding packages.

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

okay, cool. I stand by my guess then~

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Has anyone installed this into a Solidoodle 3 yet?  Was it difficult?

42

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Many people have. Difficulty depends on your level of experience.

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

I'm about to get mine ordered but I'm still deciding on connectors.  Are the wires for the heater and the thermistor both 22 gauge?  I'm thinking of using these JST plugs to make the connection at the extruder, and the heat shrink connectors to hook up to the JST's on each side.  Is this a good choice?  Thanks.

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Hm.  Why did we drop the locking arm on the e3d v6 adjustments to the mk5?  It always felt like a nice "just incase" thing for those 5-6 hour prints :-)

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

Are you having problems with it?  Just in case of what?
The v6 should snap into place rather firmly.  I threw that together quickly to help Tim out when the v6 was first introduced.  If there are tweaks that are needed I welcome the feedback.

Ah, I just printed it a few hours ago, I see what you mean about the snap.  I didn't realize before how the lip now snaped to the extruder in the model preview.  Don't have my v6 yet, but yeah... nice work!  You should upload this to thingiverse so more people can find it.

AZERATE just put it on there for me.  I'm away from my PC for the next couple of weeks.  Hope it works out for you.

I don't have a v6, but I just got done printing it. I *was* concerned about the locking arm since I use that AND the blank accessory bar since I'm paranoid like that. But that little hook wardjr worked in looks solid even side by side comparison with my other extruders.

Re: E3D releases v6 - their latest all-metal hotend

So my E3D V6 hot end is on it's way.  What parts do I need to print to get it mounted in a stock Solidoodle 3?
