Topic: Netfabb cloud goes way of Microsoft account login

I cannot tell if this makes things better, worse, or indifferent.

To me, I dont like signing in with an account for something like this. I will do it though, netfabb is to good.

Yeah I noticed this when I used it to fix a part over the weekend.  I already had a live account because of xbox stuff, so not a big deal.  The upside is the process is streamlined now.  No more emailing links of repaired item.  Just upload, wait a bit, then download.

I dig it.
Though given everything I own is run with microsoft linked in it's not really a big change.
Their Azure servers are pretty excellent from what I can tell, much faster than the cloud service Netfabb used before.
It's also the same server system that will run all the games Microsoft is releasing in the future with the Xbox One, so it's pretty high grade.

I've been using the Free PC Downloadable version. Are there any features in the WebApp that aren't in the PC version?

I think it might be a different set of algorithms.
In experience the cloud system is a little bit more powerful than the basic exe.

I for one dont like it. Went to PC version just so I would not have setup a MS account.

The service can fix issues that the Free PC version can't.  I use the PC version often, but I have had a couple of models that I couldn't fix due to the feature being locked.  I was able to fix them with the service though.

Of course, and unfortunately, the old scripts for using it from the command line now no longer work. hmm
