Topic: Removing the nozzle - SOLVED

Finally got enough room after my move to fit the FA filastruder.  I'm trying to remove the nozzle to get my melt filter nozzle in, but it's not budging... when I try to turn the nozzle, the thermocouple and barrel move as well...

Heated unit to 180
let sit for at least 45 minutes at temp
try turning the nozzle
barrel with thermocouple moves with it.
grabbed the barrel with another pair of pliers and try again
nozzle refuses to budge...

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Means it was overtightened by OSP. You're doing everything right.

Only thing I know to suggest is remove 4 main bolts and slide the hot end out, heat to 180, and put more muscle on it. Removing the 4 main bolts and sliding it out keeps you from bending the barrel.

OK, by 4 main bolts you mean the ones that are holding the barrel onto the motor?  Or am I missing something?

I'd have to clear the hopper as there's about 5g of pellets still in there...

OK, solved... took a bit more leverage, and I didn't even bend the barrel! Yay!

Thank god for vise grips... no slippage with those puppies...

Barrel onto the center support. The 1/4" bolts.

Forgot you have a fully assembled, just pull the whole support out - easier that way.

I see that... At least I know how this puppy goes together now...
