Topic: Cleaning out the Melt Filter

I was removing my nozzle + melt filter yesterday when I decided I should probably clean it out.  I couldn't find any other topics for this in the Filastruder section, so here's one now!

My first inclination would be to soak the nozzle with melt filter in acetone, but I am not sure if the black ring which holds the filter in is plastic or not.  Would it be okay?

Re: Cleaning out the Melt Filter

Been there, done this. Yes, you can dump the whole thing in acetone. The retaining ring is metal. Your going to want to get some retaining ring pliers, if you don't have them, because you will need to take it apart to get to the channels on the back of the nozzle.
