Ya I got my V6 Installed today, it is so snug it was actually a little hard to press in.  ZERO wiggle now and I don't need to use the make shift wiggle reducer THANK YOU!

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

Here's the first pass at the auto bed leveler attachment for the Bulldog XL carriage with the mounting holes wardjr posted a bit back in this thread.  It's still a WIP as will probably slim it down a bit however it seems to be working.  I am using the *released* version of the Marlin firmware that came out a couple days ago, but can't see why it won't work with the forked version by from this thread http://www.soliforum.com/topic/4714/aut … -level-23/.

I designed the mount around this servo, but may change it out for a better quality one at some point:  HOSSEN® 5pcs Genuine Mini SG90 Micro 9g Servo http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CCZ2CRA

For the arm, I am using this arm from Thingiverse, however you do not need to use this one:
Z-probe holder for Makerfarm i3 with auto bed-level http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:167430

I choose a microswitch with a small button after reading some recommendations on a full site, I went with Digikey part number SW868-ND.

Still a mess and a bunch of wiring cleanup to do.  Also noticed my stock z axis is pretty sloppy (when I was going thru the manual calibration for the offset as it's not a smooth/reliable .1mm up/down which was very noticeable), so guess I have another project for 2015 smile

Is it worth it?  Not sure yet... though can say being able to swap in differing thicknesses of PEI without adjusting the z screw was pretty cool.

Any more reports on the V5/6 mounts?

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

As I posted earlier how it is tighter than the stock mount only if I turn the E3D body, I finally got done messing with the fan, wires, and carriage, only to find that your mount is indeed much more firm than the stock. I still have to rotate the hotend a bit, but it is pretty strong.

Can't test it until I get my board situation straightened out sad

For those who may be interested in trying, I made a printed mount for the v6 http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:863435
It snaps in solid and the holes line up with wardjr's Bulldog carriage.

Re: RepRapDiscount "Bulldog XL" Geared Metal Extruder on a Solidoodle 3!

I know this is an old thread... BUT was able to finally do rev 2 of my auto bed leveling with the wardjr mount. I had a lot of problems with the servo.  They aren't exact... so will shift a few degrees in either direction randomly.  VERY frustrating as one minute it's fine, next minute the extruder is scraping across the bed, the next it's too high by .2mm and just streaming filament.  I finally just switched over tonight to one of these so no moving parts:
https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/min … sor-board/  that I purchased from filastruder.
I attached the stl I am using.  Will report after some time, but so far pretty happy with it.
