Topic: UDOO controller, possibilities....?

Hi,

Has anyone else been looking at this kickstarter? I keep thinking that it would make a great foundation for a new printer. It'd be your andruino & linux box rolled into a single board. All you'd have to do is plug in a monitor and keyboard (or touch screen) and wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am you've got yourself a print-station.

SD2 w/ mods: Rumba controller, ATX PSU, SD pro case, glass bed, with more to come...

Re: UDOO controller, possibilities....?

I have one on 'order' so to speak.
The primary issue would be porting the Marlin stuff to take good advantage of the ARM core of the Arduino Due. But otherwise, most of what you hypothesis is correct.

The Due, with its much higher clock rate, also promises to have better than 10khz freqeuncy on the drive motors... if we can get the code running clean and native. If it stays stuck in the atmel emulator, then it'll still be quicker.. just not as quick as it could be smile

So I'd say it shows 'promise', but its no silver bullet (yet).
