Topic: "Lay flat" procedure?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to "lay flat" an object in one of the mesh editors (e.g. MeshLab)?  I have an object that has some arbitrary tilts in it that I'd like to take out.  Cura has such a command, but I don't think I can resave the mesh.  I would have thought MeshLab could do it, but I don't find a reference to any procedure like that.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

TIA,
Matt

Pre or post .stl?? I ask because if you want to do what i think you're talking about, I used netfabb basic to specify the "bottom" of an .stl. But that was after I had made the .stl.

I'll take either at this point smile

I'll check out netfabb basic.  Thanks for the tip...

I've been playing with Kinect Fusion, scanning and printing busts of family members.  Netfabb makes it easy to fill the holes, cut off the excess and make a flat bottom.
