Topic: How do I get from sketchup to stl file to ready to print?

I've been frantically learning google sketchup, but how do I get from sketchup to STL file? Then what so I do with the file? I've read various posts on runnng files through testing sites but where do I start?

Here is a plugin that you can use to export from Sketchup to STL. https://github.com/SketchUp/sketchup-stl

The plug in adds a menu option in Sketchup so you can export. It is fairly straight forward, just follow the installation instructions on the above web page. After you create your model, just choose the option to export and you should be able to create an STL.

I would also recommend running the STL through netfab.com for clean up.
