Topic: Nozzle not straight?

After leveling the bed and playing around with calibration I have a question:
Is your nozzle straight?
When I level the bed I can see my nozzle being no way never leveled, and I´m trying to start to think this is what is making my prints so bad in the begining on prats of the builldplatform.

Is the anyway to straighetn/level the nozzle?

Or should i level the bed after the actual noozle angle?
I hope the picture gives some feel just to far away from straight my nozzle is pointing.

Picture 2 is the angle in which I have to place my machine to get the nozzle leveled.
Or am I thinking wrong, and the nozzle angle doesn´t matter as long as its squared to the bed? It should matter with a straight/curved flow I think at least...

Re: Nozzle not straight?

Mine is definitely not like that, it is leveled.  But, when I received my machine, it looked very much like this, even worse, the nozzle was hanging down almost sideways.  The reason was that the large black piece of plastic it's mounted on was broken.  Perhaps your is as well?  Mine was cracked along the entire back end, parallel to the piece of wood the nozzle is sitting on.

Re: Nozzle not straight?

Any one know how the nozzle is fixed to the bed? My black part actually seems leveled, but the nozzle head is sitting at a really funny angle...

Re: Nozzle not straight?

Found the problem...
The printed piece of plastic under the extruder is printed by a printer even more un-calibrated than mine...
Have a look at the picture... This made the strange nozzle angle. Had to grind the plastic down for 20 minutes to get it right... Nice quality check solidoodle....

Re: Nozzle not straight?

That's messed up.  I've got a couple printed parts on my printer that look pretty crappy compared to stuff I've been printing.  It makes me wonder who is inspecting these parts.

Re: Nozzle not straight?

Rondavouz, did you by chance contact solidoodle about this? I have yet to receive mine and I certainly don't want to be having to fix things after waiting so long for it to get here, especially after the numerous post by them saying "quality is a top priority" to them.

Re: Nozzle not straight?

I have contacted solidoodle today to give them a heads up and maybe get a new flat part.
