Topic: Spool Dimensions I need your help

Hi,

I like to be prepared in heaving a spool holder with bearings.
I have some ideas to use just one for all spools (if possible).

Some members made nice thing which can be seen at: "my workspace"
I'm not able to use a wall mounted version and I will go for a desktop version.

Now I need your help I only have ordered on spool and I hope you can give me some dimensions from the most common spools on the US market.

I kindly ask you too post as shown below (W=max. outside, D=max. diameter, d=min. diameter inside):

Material: 1kg, ABS, red
Supplier: Solidoodle
W: 140mm
D: 125mm
d: 39mm

Thanks for your help.

Re: Spool Dimensions I need your help

Ultimachine and Protoparadigm

W 74
D 22
d 51

3DPrinterStuff / Jet

W 50
D 249
d 38

This spool can be taken apart and loaded from the side.

If Solidoodle had a spool like Ultimachine's there wouldn't be the problems with tangling.  1kg of filament doesn't go all the way to the edge.

Octave and I believe RapRaper (I'll know for sure when my clear ABS arrives) both use the same spool.  I dont know how much they vary, but it seems you can track the source of the filament the resellers offer by the spool they come on.
