Topic: Extruder not heating up

My friend has given me a faulty XYZ Da Vinci Pro printer.
The extruder does not heat up.
The board is a W5.
The extruder heating element has a resistance of 4.4 Ohms.
The thermistor has a resistance of 122.6 k Ohms cold
The white connector is supplying 12v, 5v and 3.3v to the board.
What else should I be checking or looking at please?
Thanks for any replies.

Re: Extruder not heating up

check for voltage across the e heater terminal on the board.
My guess it was shorted out when someone was using a wire brush to clean the nozzle with the power on.
If that is the case, check the zero-ohm resistor used for a fuse.
and sorry do not ask me to locate it i do not do davinci.
So likely you will have to replace that resistor.
or if not comfortable with tiny surface component soldering you may have to replace the board.
Hope this helps .

Are all three of the power supply LEDS lit on the board near the power connectors? Like Tin said they use zero ohm resistors as fuses near these connectors. You will need to check them with a meter. But one sure sign one is open is if one or more of the LED's are off usually the 12 volt one.
