Topic: Da Vinci JR 1.0 not working, not reading NFC + stock at 250°C + 0014 e

Hello,

I would like to ask you, if somebody solved this problem:

I bought used printer with 2 issues:- not heating and not reading new spool.

So i decideded to take out extruder, disassemble it and check if heater is ok. Heater has 4.5 ohm and with 12V heats as hell smile

After assembling back printer after few seconds went to Error 0014.

Thermistor is also ok arond 80-85 kiloohm. It gets, 3.3 V.

Printer is going to same error with or without connected extruder and still thinks it has 250°C.

Of course, there is no shortcut, everything is connected properlly.

Any ideas how to fix it?

PS: Firmware version is 2.3.5.
i can not solve NFC without solving this first.

Thanks.

There should be no voltage at a thermistor. It is just a resistor that based on temperature it's resistance changes. If you have voltage there then there is a short in your main board and that is the issue.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Hello Carl,

Probably i wrote it not clear. On one pin is voltage (between ground and this lin), one is ground it self. That means, there is no problem in flexible cable. If there will be short, on both pins will be 0V.

How without voltage would you like to measure in? When resistance from thermistor drops, because higher temperature, then voltage drops. U(voltage) = I(current, fixed) * R(resistance from thermistor). It is Ohm law. According voltage cpu(processor) calculates teperature. So i do not think there is short problem.

See attached picture. Between ground and Vout you always have to have voltage.

@All: another sugestion?
