stall protection shut off

Ok, so I barely know what I am doing, but I got everything up and running, but the speed was quite slow, I tried to make an adjustment, and everything was going gangbusters (and I didn't take the time to check the results on the stall protection, but after about 5 minutes it seems the stall protection shut the motor off, and now it won't come back on
    How do I go about restarting the stall protection? and do I need to be concerned about the ABS that is in the barrel with it shut off?
