I personally have never uploaded a file. Downloaded several.
Thiniverse hosted by Makerbot ,has a reputation of being poorly curated.
IMHO it would be helpful to know that a file has been tested , know that it is printable and tested.
There are no requirements for upload.
I downloaded a file the other day squirt the turtle. supposedly had been printed 11 times my slicer choked on it as it was not manifold and the slicer could not even repair it.
you may want to try https://www.youmagine.com/
it is hosted by ultimaker. you may find it a better experience.
pretty simple, i don't typically upload things.
there are plenty of other resources, but just like thingiverse, finding what you want can be difficult, and whether or not it is printable is often questionable.
