Topic: Never see Solidoodle 1 pics
Just curious. I never see Solidoodle 1 pics. Anyone have some? I know very little about it, and would like to know more.

I though the SD1 had a gear drive system and a laser cut black painted wood bed arm. That looks like an SD2.
solidoodle 1 had a wooden gantry iirc. cant trust that guy he just posts dookie. Maybe Ward will see this. He has a few I believe
To be honest I'm loosing my confidence understanding English right now. There are multiple review showing similar picture stating this is solidoodle original (is solidoodle original = solidoodle 1?), and the build volume is 4X4X4 inch. However, they also state it is it’s cheap or at reasonable price ($699) and very popular (and we are struggling find out how it looks like with the help of google).
But I'm sure your are asking the right question at right forum, I think.
I think Ian is the only person I know that’s familiar with the SD1. There just weren’t many of them made. I wanna say a grand total of 6 in the wild. But it looked just like the SD2 other than the bed was 4”x4”. Wish I had more info.

Check IanJohnson's post about halfway down the page. I believe those are the SD1.
Oh nice. Yes that is what I was looking for. Neat looking little machine.

yeah but it had its faults too is why it was replaced with upgrade soon. its funny as the first makerbot machine was same size made of all wood and cost more at same time then both companies upgraded to bigger more metal units but Solidoodle kept price lower while makerbot tripled their price. dont make since how they didnt close down when they became non-competitively priced just when hundreds more new 3D printer makers began undercutting them.
