Alternatives to Arduino

I scratched the surface and its a vast array of choices.

I am not looking at anything in the realms of a Pi or similar but still want a microcontroller that is easier to use than Arduino and more grunt under the hood as well as storage.

Looking for ideas if you have any experience, please tell me more.

Re: Alternatives.

Three options that may work for you but they are probably more than you paid for you kit.

Re: Alternatives.

You may want to look at the MKS s base board IIRC about $60 us and they are 32 bit and smoothie board based.

Re: Alternatives.

The Azteeg X5 GT and Azteeg X3 Mini Wifi both from Panucatt Devices.com are smoothie based and 32 bit. The X5 even allows the new Bigfoot drivers that support 128bit microstepping and digipot current control. Control current through firmware, not fiddling with a pot.

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on the X5 myself.

Re: Alternatives.

Thanks, looking in to it.

I was considering a PI but wanted to know what options there are as I am considering a new build.
