Topic: Print bed at wrong Z cordinate

My printer always thinks it's at x=0  y=0  z=0 which is not true. Currently my print bed is pressed up against the bottom of the printer and doesn't realize where it is. I can tell it to move down so it thinks its just bellow the extruders. It makes a loud grinding noise when I do this but i'm afraid it will burn out the motor or something. anyone know what I could do to fix this?

Sounds like bad end stops or bad end stop wiring.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

dumb Question  but are you homing the machine after turning it on . or homing before a print ??
