Re: ED3 Aero

A larger squared  heatsink with a lower profile without sacrificing height...kind of a mashup of v6 with Chimera. I own many printers, but as an avid SD2 user, this seems worth the investment especially when using a Volcano.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Re: ED3 Aero

Looks great Tin,  could I retro fit this to my CTC printers???

Re: ED3 Aero

So this is the whole direct drive set up correct? Could on implement it on a Bowden type extrude bypassing the Bowden feed? Or you must have a stepper motor to attach to the new end?

Re: ED3 Aero

The  Aero Is indeed a direct drive extruder /hot end combo. the integrated the heat sink as the cover for a titan  extruder and then added a larger fan to cool it.
To use as a bowden you would have to use a regular titan cover attache the titan to the motor and then figure out how to mount the heat sink on the gantry.
for bowden I would think a regular e3d cylinder heat sink and small fan hot end would serve you better.

I would think so you may want to ask the folks at E3D
And yes I have the upgrade kits one aero is installed on the new kit build.
