Topic: Raspberry pi to printer ratio

How many printers can one PI handle using octoprint. Also, can you cluster them and run a single instance of repetier server for more ram and processor power?

Re: Raspberry pi to printer ratio

I may be mistaken, but from what I have seen it is one Pi per printer.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Raspberry pi to printer ratio

Octoprint is intended for just one printer per networked computer (the Pi), but Repetier Server is set up to handle mutliple printers from the same device.
Of course, Pi's are so low-powered that it would be much better to use them in a 1:1 ratio with the printers.
If you do put all of your printers on one Pi, you can outsource some of the computational load, but that requires a Pro license and a computer powerful enough to be worth the latency.
