Re: Camera Mode

If you have the 8MP camera and you have FreeLSS commercial then you should see the 8MP modes.  The open source version of FreeLSS has not been updated to support the new 8MP camera.

Re: Camera Mode

You are seeing the correct camera modes.  The camera firmware has two "modes" called stills mode (stills mode is sometimes called Image mode) and video mode.  These modes control the image processing pipeline used to generate the final image.  Both modes generate a photo image but the video mode can generate the photo faster.  The stills mode is always generated at 5MP in the camera firmware.  Requests for other stills resolutions will only scale the 5MP image.  You can read more about the available camera modes at https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/new-ca … -released/ and http://picamera.readthedocs.io/en/release-1.10/fov.html

Re: Camera Mode

I bought the kit and registered my version but it seems I don't get commercial updates for the software for some reason, so I had to modify the source myself. I'll post a link to my fork for those that need the 8MP camera once I've tested it as working.
