Topic: laser holders to cater for 12mm diam. Lasers
Hi All,
I am just a newbie and I was wondering if anyone has a modified stl file for a laser holder that can hold a 12mm diam laser.

Is this for the original Print your own model?
a set was made for the Acrylic kit but I have not printed them yet to see if they will fit slots on Arms. I also got a pair of the lasers with focus for beam width to try. the wires are short so have to splice the thin things some how.
I am attempting to make the Atlas 3d , I have existing Raspberry Pi B1 and Lasers and have printed most of the items required. I realised after printing the laser holder that they would be to small. I don't have much experience with drawing packages but this may be an incentive to learn more. I was hoping some one else had the same issue previously and solved it. I am in the process of combining the camera arm and half a cross beam with a screw to give me something that may work. Otherwise I start learning more about drawing packages (not a bad thing really). I intend to make the circuit using strip board as I am not set up for PCB production.
I have been thinking about this project for some time but open heart surgery has slowed me down, but only for a short while, am starting to pick up the pace again.
Using Cocoon 3d Printer (rebadged Wanhao Duplicator 3) improved table leveling, adjustable Z endstop, X axis belt relief roller.
cool another techy bit by the new revolution "Self industry"
I've just modified my files which should hopefully fit the DIY kit.
2 types are in the RAR folder - 2 with the extra arms for fitting turnbuckles onto, and 2 standard holders.
Hope they fit ok
I am printing the last one now but the part that slips into arm support is 2x thicker than normal. are the new files thinner there?

Which part do you mean?
I measured the thickness off the STL file for the DIY kit as 3.75mm which is the same as the files??
As I have the laser version I cannot test to see if it all fits ok - I can tweak the 123 files if needed to make new STL files.
oh the parts the other guy made stl for acrylic kit. I needed yours for my DIY case. I am going to print and try the ones you made next without the extra arms for tie rod. I just want the lasers with focus for finer line.
Thanks so much for doing this!
well now I got a nozzle clog partial that wont clear any easy way so tare down time good grief the joys of 3D printing huh.
Thanks navzptc,
I'll print them and let you know how I go.
I have printed the Armless ones and they fit OK - very tight connecting to the left and right laser arms, but good.
Thanks so much.
Now waiting on motor supply - ordered but now on back order.
That's good news then - I suppose better to be tight and can be sanded down a bit if needed!
Thanks for the feedback
