Topic: Struggling with getting solidoodle 2 back online

Hi,
My solidoodle twos been down for a year.  It needed a new extruder assembly so i decided it was time to add an e3d.  It went fine but i went to adjust the firmware to the right emergency temp and i couldn't upload.  It worked on another printer and was tried on multiple computers and ports.  So I bought a programmer.  That didn't work at all either.  So I bought a new solidoodle motherboard minus the chip and that didn't work.  So then I bought one of these with the optiboot boot loader and i could never figure out how to get that going either.  I finally got close to just adding a new board but it looks like theres a lot of rewiring involved that i just don't want to go through.  Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Maybe an easier question is does anyone know of a good cheap board I can buy with chip that will be as close as possible to a direct replacement?
Thanks again,
Zach
