Topic: Determining arcs

If I had a shape in a jpeg image and wanted to draw it using sketchups arc tools how do I determine where to place the end and/or mid points? It isn't perfectly clear where one arc ends and the next start, particularly if they are bent in the same direction. Is there a good way to maybe place the edge of the shape against its mirror image and draw lines between matching points and across midpoints to determine where all arcs should go?

Re: Determining arcs

While you can do what you're trying to do with arcs, as you found out, it's not easy when an arc changes its radius .  That's what bezier curves are for.  Your best bet is to download the bezier curve tool for Sketchup, and use it instead of arc.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

...and too much time on my hands.

Cool. I'll check it out.

Re: Determining arcs

At least with the sketchup plug in Bezier tool I can't control the number of line segments which is a huge issue. Any similar tools that remedy that?
