Topic: How 123dapp works?

Does anyone knows how 123dapp transforms a series of photos into a STL file?
Is there a opensource aplication that does that as well?

VisualSFM is not opensource but I beileve it leverages some opensource tools.  If you need truly open source, I believe there is a Python photogrammetry toolkit or something like that.
