this is interesting it allows you to use up to 4 different colors or different materials in printing an object using just the 1 nozel this could be a game changer

Re: he palette

i was on the early list but they 'forgot' to send me an email one hour before the kickstarter went live... when i received the email, all the super early pledge was gone (only 20 pledge at 600$), and the next step was 750$ ... i was on the way to sign in but i see the delivery date : january 2016 ... really ???  near one year before having it..  one year in 3d printing is infinity and beyond..

with all the ended patents of this last months, and all the work on SLA and SLS printers, it's too long... it is a good system is if were ready in the next 3 months... not in one year..

i even see a prototype of a full color printer that work as a addon to a standard inkjet printer like the bigger Mcor IRIS system...they print on paper then cut the paper as one layer, and glue them to the next sheet...

Re: he palette

It does look cool, but I'm inclined to agree that in a year from now there will probably be more elegant solutions available, built in to a printer.

And btw, that HP thing looks awesome! Won't affect the consumer end of the market, but it can only be a matter of time before that starts filtering down the food chain.

Re: he palette

I think if you can put very short segments together, you could effectively color mix to make a wide variety of colors. Say put cyan/magenta/yellow/white filament in each slot, you could make almost any color (except black).

For different materials however, I think investing in an Azteeg board and a Kraken hotend would serve you better.

Discussion started here. Nice to see something came of it.

I know there was a smaller one made last year I think called the Fuse where you would have unlimited color changes, but only if manually fed. Couldn't find a link for that. I only mention it because it is on a similar topic.
