Topic: Smart 3D Printing with Tribility Core

As 3D printing is becoming more widely popular technology, people with no previous experience, without any knowledge of 3D design, CAD or the settings of a 3D printer are expected to get their hands on desktop 3D printers soon and that’s a great thing since no invention is supposed to be the realm of only engineers and experts. We all want to have access to it and be able to use it properly.

And here is where Tribility Core by the Swedish company Tribility AB comes very handy. It is a piece of hardware that can control the process at each step of the way and the developers deservedly call this improved process “Smart 3D Printing”.

If their tool is exactly the future of 3D printing is however very early to say with so many new apps and devices launched every day, but it is certainly a progress, especially for those who are curious and eager to buy a printer but don’t feel capable of coping with its quite complicated electronics. Tribility Core will connect your printer to the Internet and give you instant access to countless ready-to-print files without bothering you with complex settings. Other tools help you modify a file or design a new project by yourself without any experience in CAD or other 3D design software.

Tribility Core is also referred as “3D printing server” and it really provides multiple opportunities making it even more than that. It includes functions like wireless printing, pause, and resume and eliminates any need of changing settings and tuning configurations via a tablet or smartphone. And since with these apps your printer becomes a computer itself, you don’t need to use another one anymore when printing.

Besides from all opportunities it provides, the hardware device is equipped with five useful apps.

Cube Maker allows you to create printable objects by adding cubes in a way similar to Minecraft.

Vase Maker is for pottery lovers, with the opportunity it gives for design of bowls, vases and small glasses via a simplified editor.

Lithograph Maker creates 3D replicas of the photographs, leading the users through a simple process of designing their 3D model starting from an ordinary photo.

Tribility Designer also lets you start from a 2D drawing and easily achieve its transformation into 3D, being an easy version of CAD for beginners. The designer includes popular functions like resize and extrude, and gives access to each layer.

Tribility 3D Inventor combines various pre-built 3D shapes and gives users a good starting point for their projects.

Even though Tribility Core works only on MakerBot Replicator 2 and Weistek WT150, the developers are promising to add more models soon. And at the price of $240 it can save you expensive software and paying designers and experts and let you complete all by yourself each step of 3D printing.
