Topic: X tension

I was checking on my belt tension yesterday and both the x and Y belt seemed pretty loose. I was able to tighten up the Y belt pretty easily, but the X belt is kind of tricky. Anyone know how to tighten it up?

Re: X tension

Were you able to tighten the long Y belts on the left and right of the printer?  I've had a case open with Solidoodle asking how to do that... I can't seem to figure it out.

I was able to tighten the short Y belt on the stepper, but the long belts are very sloppy and I suspect they are the cause of my Y-axis backlash.

Re: X tension

My problem is I think the X belt is actually too tight. The only thing that I can see to do is disassemble the left carriage , loosen the motor mount bolts and move it.

Re: X tension

I just did the left Y belt, since the right belt seemed okay. It is pretty easy. If you look at the carriage on the left side you can see that the belt is being held by some teeth. Just pull out one side of the belt, pull it tight, and press it back in. It took me a couple of tries, but wasn't too bad.

The right belt is harder to get to, since you have to take the side panel off. I don't think it would be terrible though.

Re: X tension

Anyone managed to adjust the tension of the X-axis belt?  I assume there must be some sort of belt tensioner similar to the Y-axis somewhere in the sled, but don't want to pull it all apart if there's not.
