Topic: Buzzing/Chirping from Power Supply

Does anybody else's power supply make a little buzzing/chirping sound when the printer is running? Mine makes a very faint sound intermittently while printing, like a tiny cricket inside. It sounds like a bad sound for a power supply to be making.

Re: Buzzing/Chirping from Power Supply

I don't know if its bad but it's not uncommon.  I can hear faint hums, chirps, and pops from most electronics or their power supplies.  The thing that bothers me is that the power supply gets incredibly hot.

My SD4 power supply does it all the time.  Its pretty annoying.  I'll probably buy a new power supply.  it sounds like the internal fan is failing on mine.

Ummm that sounds like a loose connection is arcing. This is not only really bad for the hardware in your machine but it's also a serious fire hazard! Increased resistance means increased heat!! You should replace your power supply immediately before it causes a fire or shocks the hell out of you.
