Topic: press can be modded using and lcd screen?

if you download this file press source code it has a file for lcd screen meny tree,   where you can print from sd card slot. ( the press has an sd card slot)
and configure pla also.

so what are you people think of this. of course warrantý problem if do. but interesting.

The software is capable, but there is no connector on the motherboard for an LCD.  In theory, you could modify the circuit board to break out additional pins needed to connect an LCD.  Would take some major solder skills.

Since you have the source code open, take a look at pins.h to see where an LCD could be wired.  Line 544 has a list of LCDs and urls.

Thinking about this the other day.  If Iwas gonna add an lcd I would install a controller onto a raspberry pi.  Then the pi would control the press via regular old usb.  Then an lcd or touch lcd could easily be installed on board the pi.

I haven't tried it, but another route to check out is the Android app GCodePrintr. (~$4) to drive your printer in place of your computer. There's free downgraded version of the app to see if it works with your printer & slicer. You'd also need a USB OTG cable between the device and printer.

That would also probably moving away from Soliprint to a separate slicer.
