Topic: Extruder Heater Failure at the Board

Hopefully someone more familiar with the board than I am can help out. My extruder heater is no longer getting power. I tried all three heater cores I have and there is ~6 ohm resistance for each of them. There is continuity in the wires from the board through to the heater. The heater died midprint and won't send power anymore. If I plug the extruder heater wires into the bEd heater jack, it heats up fine. So clearly, there is a problem at the board. Is there some kind of quick fix for this or way to test if the problem is the traces on the board or the Mosfets?  I have the Azteeg lying in wait, but would prefer a workaround till after Xmas since I have over extended myself as usual and need to keep printing away. Could I go into the firmware and reassign the bed heater pins as the extruder heater and then plug the bed heater into the 12 V lines?  The bed heater is always running at full blast so it doesn't need to be regulated anyways...
