Topic: how accurate are your circles?

Just thought i would ask and see how much run-out people are getting with there claimed perfect circles. I have been working on mine for a while now and got rid of the backlash and my circles look like perfect circles now to the naked eye but...... when i throw a set of calipers on it i still have some run-out. Just want to see what others are getting when they consider there circles perfect??

I'd like to have a helpful answer, but instead I have a question;

I've seen reference to removing backlash in the x and y axis, but I've looked and I'm having trouble seeing what gears everyone is talking about.  Where should I look?

They are the pulleys on the y axis drive rod towards the back. They used to have slop on the pins causing backlash but mine came with the wavy washers so i dont have that problem. But you can adjust belt tension on the y axis by removing the side panels of the printer and loosen the two screws on the bearing supports at the front of the machine and move them to create the belt tension you desire. And also the y axis drive motor belt tension needs to be checked .you can adjust the tension of that as well by loosening the motor mount screws on the right side of the machine when the panel is off. And there is also a need to tighten the tension on the x axis belt as well and there is a single screw for this on the left side of the machine.

mine came with the spring washers also. I did have to my Y axiz 2 cogs on the belt however. if you pull your gantry all the way to the front of the machine then look up where the gantry hits the white gears my right side was touching the pully and the left side wasn't.

Da Vinci 1.0 stock firmware and stock xyzware.

mine was off by 3 teeth. so I had to do the same

Thank you Carl, I was concerned about breaking off clips and things, but your explanation worked great!
