Topic: How good is the resolution on the 1.0

Regarding the fact that it can print from 100 microns to 400 microns, how well can the Da Vinci 1.0 3D printer print?  As in a model such as thingiverse.com/thing:387266 , will the bolt be able to fit onto the screw and move around freely?  Getting a da vinci 1.0 soon and wanted to see people's experiences with moving parts that need a lot of accuracy

I've just ordered one, and to me too the print quality / resolution varies a lot.

I mean I've watched a bunch of youtube videos and the model quality varies so much with this printer. (Not good!) I do wonder if people have calibrated them properly.

You will have a hard time achieving accuracy and consistency with the stock firmware and software. In fact the newer software does worse than the older software. The newer firmware has also made some detrimental changes that affect quality.

If you want this printer to perform well then you will need to switch firmware to Repetier and use Repetier Host. Yes  you can just fiddle with it for the year it is under warranty. But for the price it is worth it just ti change it from day one. If it breaks in most cases it is easy to fix.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

Thanks for the info. smile

I have probably researched about the da vinci more than I should have and would like to say I will get this in the next few months and will flash the firmware as soon as I recieve it.  After using the printer for a few weeks I will probably invest in a filament extruder factory such as the filastruder.

Any mods to enhance accuracy/precision/layer-height?  I have heard somewhere you can print something to keep the belts and printbed more fixated to enhance accuracy.

Thanks all

Thanks for the heads up. I'm receiving one for Christmas, so I've been following these forums pretty closely. I will probably switch the firmware after a weeks. Only to get the hang of things, and just in case something breaks in within the first week.
